The human transportome: drug targets and drug disposers integrated by metabolism

Giulio Superti-Furga, PhD, Orcid number 0000-0002-0570-1768, full genome: PGA-1 (, Scientific Director of CeMM, Center for Molecular Medicine of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Professor of Medical Systems Biology at the Medical University of Vienna Member of the Scientific Council of the European Research Council (ERC). Trained as a molecular biologist at the University of Zurich where he obtained his PhD in 1990. PhD studies at Genentech and IMP Vienna. He was a Postdoctoral fellow with Giulio Draetta and Sara Courtneidge at the EMBL and later Team Leader. He co-founded the biotech company Cellzome where he was the first Scientific Director. In Vienna he co-founded the biotech companies Haplogen and Allcyte. He has obtained four ERC grants, and has published more than 200 papers. Among his major achievements to date count the elucidation of basic regulatory mechanisms of tyrosine kinases in human cancers, the discovery of fundamental organization principles of the proteome and lipidome of higher organisms and the development of integrated approaches to understand the mechanism of action of drugs at the molecular level.
